Then we have introduced many vaction style in previous article like cruise travel (Let’s flying on the sea), drive a car in country(Driving Car in Lavender Country — France). Now we will introduce you another vacation style maybe will attract you. What is it? Look for an island and enjoy the sunshine, sand beach and spa. It is a good idea, isn’t? In fact there are more choice in you island vaction no matter what you spent your honeymoon or play with your whole big family or you are so fasionable, you could find your entertaiment style suitable you. Doing island discovery and SPA, Surfing or diving there are many sports and activity on the island.

Of course if google, we will find much information about the island vacation for example the island of the south pacific ocean: Tahiti & HerIslands. It is over two million square miles and comprised of 118 island spread over five great archipelagos. Know more about it: Tahiti and her Islands are located approximately 17,100 km from Metropolitan France. These islands cover a huge ocean surface of some 4 million square kilometers, which is the same area as Europe. The island of Tahiti in the Society Islands group, is 17° 32 S and 149° 34 W, situated half way between California (6,200 km) and Australia (5,700 km). Tahiti is 8,800 km from Tokyo and 7,500 km from Santiago, Chile.

Shanghai Vacation I — China

Shanghai, one of the best cities in China. It located on China’s east coast at the mouth of the Yangtze River. It is named as the Pearl of the Orient. As a shanghaiese, I’m qualified to be a guaid for a wonder Shanghai Vacation. Since there are so much much much words to say, I will collect the most famous spots to introduce first and in the next article I will continue to write more about it. Hope it will supply more useful information for your Shanghai Travel.

People’s Square Area

Shanghai Museum (Chinese:上海博物館) is a museum of ancient Chinese art, situated on the People’s Square in the Huangpu District of Shanghai. The new museum building is designed in the shape of an ancient, bronze, tripod cooking vessel called a Ding( Chinese: 鼎 ). It is said that the inspiration for the design was specifically provided by the Da Ke Ding, now on exhibit in the museum. The building has round top and a square base, symbolising the ancient Chinese perception of the world as “round sky, square earth”. It is one of the landmark building in Shanghai. It owns a treasurable collection of 120,000 precious art works, including ancient Chinese bronze, ceramics, painting, calligraphy and so on.

Opposite this Chinese tranditional Building, there is a very modern dazzling building — Shanghai Grand Theatre. It is designed by a French architect who came up with a complete design scheme including materials and lighting. The building seems to be made almost entirely from glass and the reflections of artificial and natural light are simply stunning. People’s Square covers 140,000 square meters Surrounded on all sides by mammoth and overpowering constructions, new buildings attack you from all sides, include Shanghai Concer Hall and Shopping area.

How to get there? There are No.1, No.2 subway could get to the People’s Square. Station name is just the People’s Square.

Yuyuan Garden Shopping and Food Area

Another spot which could show the tranditional Shanghai is Yuyuan Garden. Yuyuan Garden is a famous classical garden located in Anren Jie, Shanghai. It has more than 400 years history. ( Not far from the People’s Square ). Yuyuan Garden occupies an area of 20,000 square meters (about five acres). However, the small size is not a representative of the attractions of the garden. The pavilions, halls, rockeries, ponds and cloisters all have unique characteristics. There are six main scenic areas in the garden: Sansui Hall, Wanhua Chamber, Dianchun Hall, Huijing Hall, Yuhua Hall and the Inner Garden. Each area features several scenic spots within its borders.

Around the Garden, it’s a shopping area. There are many chinese tranditional feature shops and very very delicious shanghai-style snacks restaurants. The most famous populor snack is Nan xiang xiao long( Chinese: 南翔小笼 ). Although you need be more patient and wait for long time since it’s always long queue there, it deserves. The most famous restaurant is Lubolang ( Chinese: 绿波廊 ). It has hosted heads of state from more than 40 foreign countries, such as President Clinton. You could taste most of the Shainghai – style snacks and top-class tea at there. If you travel in autumn, you will have the chance to taste another shanghai wonderful food the crab ( Chinese 蟹 ) there.

If you are a fun of skiing or mountain biking, you won’t miss the world famous place Whistler the resort town in Canada.

Now let’s see some general information about it:

Whistler, British Columbia, is a Canadian resort town in the Pacific Ranges of the Coast Mountains, approximately 125 km north of Vancouver. Incorporated as a resort municipality, Whistler has a permanent population of approximately 9,965.

Over two million people visit Whistler annually, primarily for its world-famous alpine skiing and mountain biking at Whistler-Blackcomb. Whistler has been the number 1 rated ski resort in North America for the last 8 years in a row.Its pedestrian village has won numerous design awards and Whistler has been voted among the top destinations in North America by major ski magazines for the past 15 years. Maybe you don’t know that 2010 Winter Olymipics will be held there. During the 2010 Winter Olympics, Whistler will host most of the alpine and sledding events.

There are two mountains, Whistler and Blackcomb. Whistler Mountain is a peak in the Fitzsimmons Range on the edge of Garibaldi Provincial Park, and the location of the Whistler-Blackcomb ski resort and the town of Whistler, British Columbia. The original name of the mountain was London Mountain, and the valley where the town is was called Alta Lake. With the advent of the ski resort in the late 1960s the name was changed to Whistler to represent the whistling calls of the marmots that lived in the alpine areas of the mountain. Because of the mountain’s proximity to Garibaldi Provincial Park, ski lifts are regularly used to quickly access the alpine, and ski tour into the park. The summit is home to the Whistler Peak chair, and this makes it one of the most traveled summits in BC. The mountain forms part of a major ski and snowboard resort. More than 1.1 million people go to Whistler each year.

Whistler Blackcomb is another ski resort. The two previously separate ski areas of Whistler and Blackcomb have been systematically integrated into one mega-resort since 1997 when Intrawest finally completed the addition of neighboring Whistler Mountain to their Blackcomb ownership. Combined ticketing, pass, and access control systems for the two ski areas were finally integrated in 2003.

Transportation:

Whistler is located on British Columbia Highway 99, also known as the “Sea-to-Sky highway”, approximately 58 kilometres (36 mi) north of Squamish, and 125 km (76 mi) from Vancouver.
